Scope
The purpose of the conference is to present new developments in the context of security and armour systems and their application to the protection of vehicles and personnel. The provisional list of topics is as follows: armour systems and materials, vehicle armour systems and technologies, protection against human injuries, defence systems, impact energy dissipation and absorption, blast-wave absorption, ballistic and impact phenomena, failure and damage mechanisms, impact and terminal ballistics, applications and case studies, numerical simulation, modelling and theoretical studies, experimental methods, testing and standardisation. It is also a major purpose of the conference to facilitate the communication between specialists interested in fields related to security and armour systems.
Conference format
The LWAG 2011 Aveiro Conference is a two-day event during which several lectures will be delivered. If necessary, poster sessions may also be organized. A detailed programme of the event will be posted on the LWAG web page as soon as possible.
Proceedings and publications
A book of abstracts will be published in printed form and the full proceedings will be delivered in digital form. These will be made available to all registered participants.

Submit your abstract directly to ftd@ua.pt in a one-page (A4) free format, including title, author names and affiliation, up to 10 keywords and references. Do not include figures or tables in your abstract.

Thus, if you are familiar with LaTeX you should download and use the official LaTeX conference template from this web-page.
